MEET DR. MANISH SOJITRA, D.C.

I am honored to share my personal journey with you. It is vital to understanding how this practice has been built. Understanding that the story is long, I wanted to offer CliffsNotes here:

- I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT
- MY WORLD TOTALLY STOPPED
- CHIROPRACTIC CARE & SPINAL DECOMPRESSION HELPED REVERSE MY 11.5 MM HERNIATED DISC TO 3.5 MM
- I GOT MY LIFE BACK

MY STORY

After suffering a car accident, Dr. Manish, head chiropractor at Princeton Spine Disc & Chiropractic thought his collegiate tennis career was over.

It was the start of my 2nd year of college when a terrible car accident altered the course of my life drastically. The car I was a passenger in was completely totalled. My first thought was, ‘how am I going to play tennis this year?’ After a trip to the hospital and the initial shock slowly wore off, I thought I was feeling ok and was sent home. But what started out as a soreness in my lower back, kept getting worse and worse as days went on. Upon further evaluation, lots of confusion, being shuffled around to different doctors, taking X-Rays, the most clear diagnosis I was able to get was that I had a possible hairline fracture in my pelvis. Not knowing any better at the time, I took my prescribed medications and hobbled away on the pair of crutches I was given.

Of course, I wasn’t healing at a rate I was comfortable with so I went to a Chiropractor who specialized in Car Accident Aftercare to see if they could help me get back to playing tennis again. Luckily, after 2 months of treatment, I felt pain-free and well enough to get back to my daily lifestyle. What’s more is that I noticed my allergies were almost non-existent, my hand-eye coordination improved and I was playing at a whole different level than before. I knew chiropractic had something to do with that which inspired me to switch careers and enter a life studying to become a doctor of chiropractic so I could serve & help make a difference in someone’s life in the same way this chiropractor did for me.

Life went on and I didn’t think twice about the car accident.

I had an 11.5MM Disc Herniation. I

n the 5 years of being a chiropractor, the worst I have ever seen is 6MM.”

Fast forward to 2014, I was now 5 years into being a practicing chiropractor, married and a lucky parent to my first daughter who was 1.5 years old at the time. Life felt normal until I woke up one day to find my entire left leg and foot was numb and tingling, and a pain so intense that it left me totally unable to do any of my normal daily activities. I couldn’t pick up and play with my daughter, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t dress myself. This time, the diagnosis was clear, I had a 11.5MM Disc Herniation at my L5 S1. In the 5 years of being a chiropractor, the worst I have ever seen is 6MM. Typically, even with a 6MM disc herniation or less, many patients were left with no other option than surgery.

It may have seemed like I had a huge decision ahead of myself, but to me, the answer was clear. Although surgery could have potentially brought me relief (aside from the intense recovery), it wasn’t going to heal and reverse the problem the way I knew Chiropractic Care could. So I committed full force to a natural, consistent, and non-invasive treatment plan. No Medications. No Cortisone Shots. No Surgery. Just non-surgical spinal Disc Decompression Treatments, regular Chiropractic Adjustments and Physical Therapy. Yes, it took me 3 months to get back to living a more comfortable life (but it would have been the same with surgery recovery time) and another 3 months to fully heal but I went from a world-stopping 11.5MM disc herniation to 4.5MM within a year time frame. And just to further illustrate how important regular spinal care is, since you got this far in my story already, after yet another car accident in 2018, I had taken another MRI and my disc herniation decreased even more from 4.5MM to 3.5MM.

A few things became even more clear for me during this episode of my life;

After going through a severe herniated disc injury, I gained a new perspective on life and healing benefits of chiropractic care.

-How fragile our bodies truly are and how important it is to honor and nurture them

-How pain can make your entire life stop, taking away your freedom to do anything considered ‘normal’ part of your daily routine

- How much your family and your close relationships suffer as a result of you no longer being able to contribute to the daily tasks and responsibilities of life. From taking the full brunt of taking care of the entire family, to in cases like mine, needing help with basic needs such as putting your shoes on.

-How little clear information we as patients receive from some doctors and medical establishments. I have left a herniated disc injury untreated from my initial car accident just because I wasn’t advised by anyone to care for it in any specific way. On the one hand, I could have avoided this disc injury, but on the other hand, I am grateful to have had experienced this disc injury first-hand, and be able to create a chiropractic practice first in South Elgin, Illinois and now, here in the Princeton, Montgomery Township New Jersey Area that is able to serve and heal patients with treatment plans that heal the root of the problem and help them regain their freedom.

I AM EXCITED TO MEET YOU AND HELP YOU FIND HOPE THE WAY I DID WITH CHIROPRACTIC CARE. REQUEST A CONSULTATION HERE.
